SOCIAL DistANCING - Interactive Smiling Task

The project brings together dancers from various streams, such as contemporary dance, ballet, Chinese dance and K-pop, in which each choreographs his/her own work to an arrangement of the original theme song, composed specifically for this event. The dance clips will then be uploaded onto the website. Viewers can vote for their favourite choice online. Individual dancers will also invite viewers to take part in the “Interactive Smiling Task” challenge.

The Association of Hong Kong Youth Dancers

The Association of Hong Kong Youth Dancers is a registered non-profit organisation. Its core mission is to promote the popularisation and development of dance, to advocate the preservation and innovation of dance arts, and to provide professionally trained young dancers (including graduates of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and freelance dance artists) with career prospects. By applying for funding from various organisations, the Association is dedicated to fostering a sustainable artistic environment for aspiring young dancers.

A showdown of dance talents during lockdown

The twelve artists taking parts in the SOCIAL DistANCING – Interactive Smiling Task will present their own choreographed works and invite viewers to challenge them with their own creations. The first 100 “challengers” who upload their videos to Facebook, Instagram or YouTube will receive a souvenir from the presenters. Moreover, viewers can also vote for their favourite artists and his/her video by hitting the “like” button on social media. Fans of the top three artists will have a chance to win a special gift too.
