Map of Unidentified Art Objects
When social distancing, self-isolation and working from home have become part of the “norm” during the COVID-19 pandemic, what kind of public art do we yearn to see, and which ones deserve to be remembered, recollected and recalled at this life-changing period? “The Map of Unidentified Art Objects” is a community-led digital repository to catalogue the lesser-known or forgotten outdoor sculptures, installations and artistic interventions in the public realm. The aim of this project is to explore the roles of public art and its significance, especially in terms of creating a collective sense of community and shared cultural memories.
